POPSTARS
Los Angeles-based composer-producer Ethan Castro and NYC-based singer Conor Moriarty come together for their song "POPSTARS," for which I created some choreography! The choreography didn't make it into the final cut of the video, but the dancers worked hard and so did I, so Ethan, Conor, and cinematographer Jordan Pulmano graciously agreed to let me share the dance footage with you all! Here's a cut from the shoot featuring the dancers doing their thing.

People, Places, and Things 
This video is the second act of this three-act original story "ballet." Mainly a result of my time in the dance program at UC Irvine, this live dance concert featured a choreography representative of the conglomerate of different forms of dance and choreography I studied throughout my five years in the program. The performance integrated improvisation, jazz, ballet, voice, audience integration with the story and the space, original music, and a live cellist. 

VIVA LA MACHINA
Inspired by Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games series, this is a jazz-modern hybrid piece featured clean, crisp lines contrasted against more fluid movement, and featured an improvised duet in the second section. "VIVA LA MACHINA" was performed as the closing piece to UC Irvine's annual undergraduate choreography concert.

Ode 
"Ode" is an original play by celebrated Spokane poet and playwright Jonathan Johnson. I choreographed this regency-style piece for the show, in addition to another small segment based off this section. The play, directed by Sara Goff, was performed last year through EWU Theatre. A piece also selected for production for "Physical Graffiti," a year prior to "VIVA LA MACHINA." This piece was a solo that another dancer (Davita Paul) and I switched off performing. This video is of Davita Paul performing the final version of the piece during dress rehearsal.

a p a r t
Video choreography project from the end of my third undergraduate year in which I explored the movements of non-dancers--and the movements of the camera itself--as a dance form/style.

blue energy 
Submission for "Physical Graffiti" in my second undergraduate year. This piece did not make it into the show, but I still enjoy the flow of the movement, the exploration of the lyrical, and the shifting relationships between the dancers.

WithAgainst 
A choreographic project from my third quarter of choreography. Not my greatest work, buuuut I did dance with a piano. Also, the music has a special place in my heart.

Build God, Then We'll Talk 
...the title of which is SHAMELESSLY STOLEN from PANIC! at the Disco, whose work on their first album was GOLD. In high school, I fell in love with "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out"--this song in particular--and submitted some of my choreography to a contest given by a radio host called "Dancing With the Tesh." I didn't win, but it was the first time I'd ever put my choreography on the internet, which to me signaled a significant place of intention, and it was probably then that I decided to get a degree in choreography. It's awesome how the smaller things we do become bigger and bigger things in practice, things that gain more voice and more traction as we learn and grow, and this little piece serves as that reminder for me.
